Tommy McCann – Operations Manager

Tommy has 16+ years in the oil and gas industry, focused on pipeline corrosion mitigation and monitoring. Tommy developed a deep understanding of people and leadership during these years, from working in the field to various management roles. Tommy joined Marler in January 2024 and has helped Marler’s operations team become more cohesive, efficient and engaged.

Tommy was born in Renfrew Scotland (known as The Cradle of the Royal Stewards). He started his working career in retail before realizing at 25 it did not align with his long-term goals. Soon after, Tommy met the love of his life Jay, and they began their life together. During this time, Tommy was still working odd jobs and desired a more fulfilling career. Tommy then decided to relocate to Aberdeen to begin work in the oil industry.

Over the next seven years, Tommy’s career took him around the globe as a corrosion technician, leading to roles in supervision and management. During a three-year period in Australia, he married Jay, and they began their family by acquiring Labradors. After navigating a five-year journey with infertility, an opportunity arose to move overseas again. Tommy, Jay, and their dogs ventured to Canada, which led to welcoming their twin daughters, followed two years later by a son.

In 2021, Tommy and his family moved to Central Alberta. His favorite way to spend his personal time is being with his family and their 2 dogs.
